Chiropractic Assistant Soozie, Newmarket

Meet Soozie Hilker, Chiropractic Assistant

Welcome to the Family

Originally from Australia, Soozie lived overseas in Europe and the UK for over 40 years, returning home to Oz to be closer to family.

She has been a Chiropractic Assistant since March 2016. Soozie enjoys the ‘ease’ and friendship of working with the Spine Centre team:

People come in as strangers and leave as part of an extended ‘family’.

Personal and Educational Development

  • Auricular Acupuncture BSArAc
  • Rebirther (aka Conscious Connected Breathing)
  • Glass artist
  • Wholistic Pulsing (Tovi Browning)
  • Counselling (studied) University of London, UK

A Friendly Space For Everyone

One of Soozie’s favorite areas of her job is meeting the diverse range of people that come through the red door: from corporate professionals, athletes to mothers and their children, some of whom have been patients since birth.

It was by accident that Soozie discovered her new “home away from home”. She had just returned from the pilgrimage Camino de Santiago and was looking for employment and, as synchronicity would have it, was introduced to Dr Summers and The Spine Centre.

I don’t feel I chose this career, it chose me hook, line and sinker.

Interests & Hobbies Outside of Work

Soozie loves meditation and yoga and is also studying aromatherapy (with traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic leanings). Her other passion is for working as an artist in fused glass to create bespoke pieces. If there is any time left in a busy day Soozie may be found deep inside the pages of a good book or walking on the beach just enjoying her love of life.
